5th Robinsons Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run

I had a great time at the 5th Robinsons Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run. This race is unique because you are required finishing the race together with your buddy. YES! You need to have a running buddy in order for you to register and you have to finish together.

My running buddy? He is a good friend and my shoulder to cry on. *naks! meganon?* Ron and I decided to be running buddies. I'm a bit hesitant before the race because I'm not prepared for it. I've been idle for quite some time because I just had an eye surgery. So from being a couch potato, here I am running my come back run - 10k.

While running the race, I noticed runner couples holding hands.*inggitera lang!* I'm lucky to have a great running buddy. He's encouraging me to keep running and sometimes had to walk on my account.

wearing the "loveyourself" shirt during the run. Happy 1st Year Anniversary LoveYourself!
My buddy has been very sensitive to my needs. He constantly checks if I'm still okay. I admit, this 10k run is one of my worst runs. It's a "buwis-buhay" race for me. But my buddy made it much easier. He keeps on checking if I'm still comfortable with our pace, if we're too fast, too slow or just right, or if I needed to walk.

My buddy and I agreed before the race that the goal was just to have fun and finish the race with a decent time. We finished with an unofficial time of 1:11. not bad right?

After the race, Ron and I made a quick stop at Starbucks.

The First thing I did when I got home; checked out the loot.

WOW! Groceries... I think this would last a month?!?! Hahaha
Have I mentioned I run the last 2-3km barefoot? Yes! At first I was wearing my Vibram Five Fingers, unfortunately, I had blisters and made me decide to run barefoot.

This is the only photo we have during the race from Pinoy Fitness. What the hell am I doing here? HAHAHA
"Welcome back to running, FRED! See you guys on the road.."

Pawikan [Sea Turtle]

This Sea Turtle is approximately 6 feet long.

diving @ Samal Island, Davao

I never thought I'll go diving in Davao. I was in Kidapawan, North Cotabato when I contacted Xycris. Xycris invited me to stay overnight in his place to catch up and hangout. Since, I'm going back to Manila the next day, I agreed.

Xycris and his family is into diving. They have a scheduled dive the next day, Sunday.  He and his dad invited me to join. I was hesitant but excited at the same time. It will be my first time but I don't know how to swim. Hahaha!

On our way to the diving spot in Samal Island, someone caught my attention. He's a Japanese, good looking guy. He's been in Davao for almost 6 months already, he's a licensed advanced open water diver, an addict. What caught my attention really is that he's deaf. He communicate through writing using his tablet.

Here's Xycris getting ready to jump and preparing his underwater camera:

Yes! it's required to hydrate before jumping to the water.
underwater cameras are ready.

Clown Fish! Nemo is that you? :D

"Pawikan" almost 6ft long

The Magnificent Lake Sebu

Lake Sebu is a natural lake located in the municipality of Lake Sebu, South Cotabato and within the Alah Valley region. It's a beautiful 300+ hectare lake nestled 2316 feet up in the mountains. Lake Sebu is one of the many bodies of water supplying important irrigation to the provinces of Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato. Also, it is the home of the indigenous tribes, the T'bolis, known for their T'nalak weave.

A visit to Lake Sebu's famous 7 Waterfalls and Zip Line.

I only visited 2 Falls. Falls #1 and #2 but i've already seen enough. The place was spectacular! From Falls #1 you have two options on how to get to Falls #2, you can take a habal-habal ride to get there (P100 - P150) or you can take the challenging route, 774 Steps stairs. The runner in me took the stairs and the view was magnificent. It's breath taking.

I don't need to say more. Here are the photos:

Falls # 1

Falls # 2

@razzzledazzle_ Yours Truly! :P

Unfortunately, I never had a chance to try the Zip Line. It is said to be the highest and long Zip Line in Asia. It's Shamcey Supsup's fault. The Zip Line was closed because Shamcey is shooting her Nestea TVC at Falls #3.

"It has been an amazing experience.! I'll be back soon."

Hello razzzledazzle_

out with the OLD!

"karangkarot" has been my online handle name since i started joining social networking sites and also been used as my running handle name when i join the takbo.ph community. It was derived from the word 'kangkarot' which means people or someone who likes to move all the time/someone who move from one place to another all the time.

You might want to asked why changed "karangkarot"?

Simple. I am not that same person anymore! The foolish, immature, and brat "karangkarot" has grown up .

Say HELLO to "razzzledazzle_"

"razzzledazzle" was derived from the word "razzle-dazzle" which means a state of confusion or hilarity. In sports, it is a complex maneuver designed to confuse on opponent.

I am addicted to contact sports, hence, I chose the name. I had been training for boxing and muay thai. YES! I dedicated some of my time doing contact sports.

What's New? You'll find it out soon.. :D

Graduation: In Happiness or in Pleasure?

Reminiscing memories in college is like opening the pages of a thick diary. Yet the difference is that the letters written in a diary could be worn out, the pages could be torn, and the diary could be lost and misplaced, while the memories will always endure in the hearts even as time passes by.

“We cannot tempt fate without eventually getting scorched by it.” College life isn’t facile yet it’s only the beginning. We are still far from the end. Life is a cycle of felicity and sorrow. It is indeed ad infinitum until such time that life expires here on earth. Problems, burdens, and hardships will not cease amidst of our lives if God know that His creations cannot bear with it. It’s His own special way of nurturing his weak children to be strong and determined. They are not that Herculean and Titanic for us to surrender. We need not be made of stone, for this will hinder us from winning friends and loved ones who tend to support us in our shortcomings and pitfalls.

College life is also a realization of God’s love. It is a sacrament that serves as a visible sign how much God cares for us by giving us our friends, family and the school community. It is worth to muse on our memories, experiences and lessons that we’ve got in view of the façade of our school building.

According to George Sheehan, “Happiness is different from pleasure. Happiness has something to do with struggling and enduring and accomplishment.”

By this, are we in happiness or in pleasure? Aside from the graduation as our achievement, have we proven something to ourselves by doing the best of what we can? Have we given “consuelo” to our parents whom by the aim of bringing us to growth and new pedestal of life, chose to sacrifice their time and effort? Some even left the country in search of what could bring a brighter future for us. They even chose to live in chaos than to live with their families. It is like leaving their heart to the place where their family is, while their body is seeking for what can nourish their established family. The best gift that we could give our parents is showing them that we grew out of their efforts and that they where right to sacrifice their own happiness in order to send us to school.

Yurbuds: My New Running Partner!

Finally, I got a new pair of earphones. After I lost my Sennheiser Adidas CX 680i Sports earphones, i have been scouting for a new pair of earphones. "Why not get the same pair of earphones since it works best for you?" a friend told me. To be honest, I really want to. However, I don't have the luxury to get the same pair of earphones. My old Sennheiser Adidas CX 680i earphones costs P4,495 (the last time, i scouted). That earphone was given to me by Adidas during the adiNation of Runners 5th Sunday Run.

A few nights ago, Kikayrunner, posted her review about the new earphones made for runners/sport enthusiasts. I was intrigued, I desperately need to get a new pair since i can't train without earphones (i have been using my Blackberry earphones for quite sometime now).

Yurbuds Ironman Inspire Pro

I qouted: "Yurbuds Sport Earphones were created by an Ironman triathlete, a 24-time marathoner, ear experts, and ergonomists. This means they are designed specifically for endurance athletes who need to keep their earphones comfortably in place for long periods of time. Gianina’s husband Maiqui encountered Yurbuds when he competed in Kona, Hawaii at the Ironman World Championships last year, and he liked the product so much he became a distributor for Yurbuds in the Philippines."

Finally, it's payday, i decided to get my first Yurbuds Ironman Endure earphones. I took it out for an hour and 30mins run around BF Homes, Paranaque and i loved it. Officially, it's now my favorite earphones.

Yurbuds lives up their promise that their earphones won't fall out. It NEVER did! The sound quality is amazing, it's exceptional. It's comfortable enough that i was able to use them for more than an hour training.

Its appearance is quite weird because of the bigger silicone cap but who cares??

I'll definitely recommend this to my friends!!
